Does anyone know of a diabetic meter test w / strips of low cost and you can test anywhere in the body?

My mom was diagnosed recently with diabetes, but not having much money and were unable to get their Medicare Part D. I find the system frustrating and confusing Medicare and want to know how to get a meter and test strips with little or no effort card until you can get a good mom in Medicare Part D. Mom Is Medicare hand to the pharmacist and that from there? Help!

"Low cost" and "proof of any party" are almost mutually exclusive. in other words, low tested meters cost anywhere, and anywhere test meters are expensive. The secret is in the test strips. Recently it has been that the test strips that allow "test at any place." And the latest technology is almost always expensive. But Mom does not have years to wait for technology to go down in price. Thus to go in search of a meter that uses strips of low cost, and buy one with cheaper strips. DO NOT buy the "drum" to go "disco" meters – drums and disks are the most expensive!. If you do a finger stick tests as instructed, they will not hurt! You are not supposed to prick your finger (where all terminations nerve), but the dick on the side of the tip of the fingers (where the nerve ending are not as many). Also, keep the Lancet (finger-label-thingy) Sharp replacing frequently (sharp lancets are less painful) – using a lancet to no more than two days. Lancets are pious – to $ 10 per hundred, if you buy at the discount store like Sams Club and Costco. And buy a lancet that is adjustable. I use a Reli-On brand from Sam's Club. Then adjust the minimum stick device for blood. And, Finally, mom just has to grow. This is something that has to do. Living with him! the bit of pain is much less than lots of pain caused by uncontrolled diabetes – Blindness, neuropathy, amputations, kidney failure and dialysis. A small finger prick can help prevent all these.
